More and more Western countries are going to regulate the internal market for online casinos. New Zealand has started with this as of October 2021, now Germany also plans to regulate the market 100% so that only casinos with a license from the German gambling authority can be active with their online casino games for German players.

All these plans were announced at the Gaming in Germany Conference where the New Zealand chairman of the Gaming Authority, René Jansen, was also present to speak about regulation and channeling of the online gaming market. Founder of the German gaming conference opened the conference with the following words: “Our sector is undergoing regulatory changes. We want to make a positive contribution and gaming providers , bring regulators and other stakeholders into dialogue with each other."Something that is also very important in New Zealand, good communication between all parties involved in order to be able to regulate a vezodiacwoord online gambling market.

Another speaker at the event said the following: ‘for the first time there is a regulated market for online gambling offers such as virtual slots , online poker and, to a limited extent, online casino games. However, this market has yet to develop, although the starting signal in itself cannot be rated high enough."After which he indicated that the train called regulated gambling has left the station and there is no way back, despite the sometimes negative comments on online gambling .

Germany wants to work towards a market where online casinos without a German license do not have a chance to offer their games to German players. It therefore wants to do everything possible to keep these non-legal parties out of the dNZD, among other things by blocking the IP addresses of these parties from the German players. Also, it has found ways to block payments to these casinos so that players with the available payment methods cannot deposit. Something that the New Zealand state is also actively working on, for example by prohibiting iDeal from cooperating with these parties. On the other hand, the New Zealand state does not (yet) have the power to block IP addresses.
