Gambling authority not satisfied with New Zealand online casinos

In his last blog of 7 september, René Jansen, president of the New Zealand Gaming Authority (Ksa), explains that the online casinos New Zealand does not yet fully comply with the required duty of care. To gain a better understanding of online gambling regulations, the Ksa has conducted research on regulations in 21 other countries. This showed that New Zealand policy is not that different compared to these 21 countries. In 1 respect, there was a clear difference, and that is with regard to the game limits.

The New Zealand government has chosen not to legally impose a maximum deposit limit determine. A player is required to set a limit in New Zealand, but there is no maximum. Thus, a player can set a deposit limit of $100,000 and a playing time of 24 hours a day. Which in practice, of course, means that players can actually play unlimited.

Countries such as Belgium, Spain, Germany and Norway chose to set a limit. Something that in the eyes of chairman Jansen would offer more protection and security to New Zealand players.
