The New Zealand Gambling Authority has Gammix Limited, the company that operates several online casinos he has requested to leave the New Zealand market. These casinos do not have a New Zealand license and are therefore not authorized to offer online gambling to New Zealand players in New Zealand.
Since the New Zealand online gambling market has been regulated by The New Zealand government, the Gambling Authority is actively looking for online casinos that accept New Zealand players, despite not having a New Zealand license. This also applies to the casinos that fall under Gammix Ltd. Gammix has 15 online casinos including VegaDream, Touch Casino and Nordslot. These casinos were accessible to New Zealand players, something that is not allowed.
The New Zealand Gaming Authority has therefore imposed a penalty payment on Gammix Ltd. "If Gammix does not stop doing this, the company will have to pay a fine of $ 1.47 million per week. The fine can be up to almost 4.5 million dollars."- KSA warned the Gammix.
Curaçao's thorn in the side for New Zealand gambling market
Minister of legal protection, Franc Weerwind, warns against the online gambling licensing system of Curaçao. On Curaçao there are companies that can issue licenses to all kinds of casinos such as the aforementioned casinos of Gammix. Because these companies issue licenses here and there, it is difficult to monitor casinos with such sub-licenses.
Since Curaçao still belongs to the Kingdom of the New Zealander, you would think that Franc can intervene Weathervane. It is at least noteworthy to mention that casinos with a license from curaçao, are not allowed in New Zealand. However, Curaçao has its own autonomy and these casino licenses fall outside the jurisdiction of New Zealand. So Minister Weerwind is powerless at the moment that the island continues with this permit proposal.
However, Weerwind is doing everything it can to provide technical support to Curaçao to reform the set. Who knows, it will soon change.
